This original chromolithographed map is taken from Harmsworth’s New Atlas
This fascinating map was published shortly after the end of the First World War. The atlas itself includes a number of interesting and unusual commercial maps which highlight the key agricultural & mineral products and manufactured products across the world; some of these evoke a bygone era, with banned substances and goods like “opium” and “ivory”, still included.
It was one of the first comprehensive atlases of the time to delineate the battle movements of the First World War. These included numerous detailed battlefield maps covering the Western Front and Eastern Front and the battles across Italy, the Balkans and the Middle East.
