Original rare antique printed colour map showing the Australian movements during  the Huon Peninsula Campaign which stretched form September 1943 to April 1944 with an inset of the Lae Operations. On the verso of this map are three small maps showing the 9th Australian Divisions positions when the Enemy counter-attacked to regain Finschhafen, the 9th’s Operations in Satelberg-Wareo and the daily advances of battalions from 19 Jan to 1 Feb 1944 at Shaggy Ridge. A larger map accompanies these showing the battle for Salamaua from 30 June to 11 September 1943. This map was inserted loosely in the publication Jungle Warfare with the Australian Army in the South West Pacific which was published by The Australian Military Forces by The Australian War Memorial and is normally misplaced. This is a significant addition to any Collection of WWII maps or ephemera.
