Lithographic map of part of the North Murchison and Mt Margaret Electoral District with hand drawn annotations including that of the Electoral District boundaries laid on linen. We assume that these maps were used to define new electoral boundaries and may be unique, being the amended and updated copies of this map to the 30th October 1900. There is a signature in ink to the bottom right with the initials NSB 30/10/00 presumably that of the Chief Draughtsman. The general area covered is from Robinson Ranges in the East, the South Branch of the Gascoyne River in the North, Lake Nabberoo in the North East with Mt Russell and the Finlayson Range in the South. All leases and their owners names are shown including Lee Steere, the Darlot Bros and CD Browns lease of 26000 acres.John Sherlock Brooking was Deputy Surveyor General from 1887 to 1890 and became acting Surveyor General in 1890 when John Forrest, his predecessor, relinquished the position, to become Treasurer and Premier of Western Australia.
