Lithographic map of the Carnarvon Townsite showing the Gascoyne River with hand drawn annotations including that of the Electoral District boundaries laid on linen. The annotations include the date the town was gazetted on the 4th June 1891. An addition of Part Municipality is added and there is a small pasted inset showing the electoral location. We assume that these maps were used to define new electoral boundaries and may be unique, being the amended and updated copies of maps to the 8th October 1900. There is a signature in ink to the bottom right with the initials LMB?, presumably the signature of the Chief DraughtsmanThe map was printed for the Department of Lands and Surveys under the supervision of John Sherlock Brooking. During his tenure as Deputy Surveyor General from 1890 to 1896 no Surveyor General appointed.
