Original print depicting Princess Royal Harbour, King George’s Sound, Albany, Western Australia. This image is attributed to Lieutenant Richard Ffarrington who was stationed in Western Australia for three years between 1843 and 1847. It depicts the new settlement less than 20 years after Major Lockyer with a group of soldiers, sent from Sydney, in the Brig Amity in late 1826, settled this remote part of Australia. The image was not published in The Illustrated London News until 20 years later.
