The Harmsworth Atlas was published shortly after the end of the first World War. It was one of the first Atlases to delineate the battle movements of the competing armies in the conflict. These included numerous detailed battlefield maps covering the Western and Eastern Fronts. Also included were battlefield maps across Italy, The Balkans and The Middle East. Each map is supplied with a copy of the original accompanying page from the atlas depicting photographs of the battle scenes, villages and regiments involved.
