John Gould

We have an extensive range of original John Gould lithographs of the birds and mammals of Australia. John Gould arrived in Australia, from London in 1838 and spent over two years collecting specimens and information for his two greatest works: ‘The Birds of Australia’ published 1840-1868, had 250 subscribers and 681 lithographs while ‘The Mammals of Australia’ published 1845-1863 had 120 subscribers with 182 lithographs.
