From its establishment almost 40 years ago Trowbridge Gallery has offered superior custom picture framing in Perth, Western Australia, to art collectors from all over the world. Our top priority is the safe care of your artwork. We understand it is precious to you and we treat it as our own. Furthermore, as dealers in rare works on paper, we have always been conscious of the need for conservation picture framing at our Perth workshop. This has meant the careful and appropriate use of acid free materials that will not cause harm to your artwork long into the future.
Our framing workshop is managed by Chris Whittle who joined Steven in 1990. Chris was trained as a picture framer by his father, the legendary Bert Whittle. Chris’s expertise in the craft of bespoke framing has spread far and wide guaranteeing a constantly busy workshop. Whether it is a rare oil, watercolour or a simple degree or map, clients to the Gallery are well served by this Master Framer.
When it comes to choosing a frame with the appropriate mat boards both Steven and Bronwyn with decades of experience can help guide you to make the best aesthetic decisions. Most of our clients find the process to be fun and inspiring.
It is a matter of pride for us to only use the best quality materials. Our choice of quality cedar for canvas stretching reduces the chance of warping commonly seen with the cheaper pine stretcher bars. This along with chamfered edging preventing wear and tear guarantees long lasting presentation. Our range of frames is unsurpassed in Perth with many being sourced from overseas including Italy, France and England.
We have over 100 framed items on show and are proud of each and every one. We invite you to examine our presentation and quality prior to bringing your artwork to us.
We are happy to quote over the phone or in either of the Galleries. So feel free to contact us.
